Meeting from 10:00 to 10:45 followed by a brief social period and a program.  This month's speaker is David Sawyer, founder and CEO of TSOLife. David Sawyer provides a unique and fresh perspective focused on how technology experiences can act as a gateway into genealogy for younger generations. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of how to utilize specific Internet websites, apps, devices and other technology tools to build family bonds and transfer the genealogist's passion to his or her children or grandchildren.

This class consists of three sessions as shown below. Sessions I and II are held in the History Room on the second floor of the Indian River Main Library. Session III is held in the Genealogy Department on the second floor of the Indian River County Main Library.

Meeting from 10:00 to 10:45 followed by a brief social period and a speaker.  This month's speaker is Rev. David McDonald, DMin., CG.  He has nearly 40 years of research experience and holds an undergraduate degree in history, plus graduate and doctoral degrees in theology. He is a trustee and past president of the Board for Certification of Genealogist and has served as course coordinator for the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh and the British Institute; he has served as an instructor at the Institute of Genealogical & Historical Research.  A frequent lecturer at national, state and local genealogical conferences, Rev. McDonald will present "Church and Religious Records: Their Use in Genealogical Research".

The Indian River Genealogy Conference is a free one day event sponsored by the Indian River Genealogical Society and the Vero Beach Family History Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Join us for a full day of one-hour presentations on a wide range of topics for beginner to experienced researchers.  Visit the exhibit hall and network with other genealogists and family historians. The Family History Center will be open that day.
