What are GIGs?

Genealogy Interest Groups are people who come together with a common interest.
There are four nationality groups, German, Irish, Italian, Polish and Swedish. They share
information and study together to find out about ancestors.

There are also three other study groups, the Writing GIG, that helps you to write
your family history and Familytree Maker GIG which helps with the program, and

DNA GIG for those interested in finding genetic matches

The groups meet as follows:

The Beginning Genealogy GIG led by Mary Foxworthy meets the third Friday from 2 - 4

The Familytree Maker led by Marcia Eyberse meets the fourth Tuesday from 2 - 3
for beginners and 3: 15-4: 15 for advanced.

The DNA GIG led by Sheila O'Shell and John McCahan meets the second Friday from 2 - 4

The Writing GIG- led by Mary Mitchell meets the third Wednesday from 1-3.

The Irish GIG, led by Jack Berrigan and Tom Garvey meets the first Wednesday from 2 - 4
